Environmental sustainability and infrastructure development are closely interconnected in shaping resilient and peaceful societies. Rapid urbanization, climate change, resource depletion, and infrastructure expansion require integrated approaches that balance environmental protection, technological innovation, and sustainable infrastructure planning.
This session aims to provide a platform for discussing research advancements, industry practices, and policy perspectives that support environmentally responsible infrastructure development, resource efficiency, and climate-resilient systems.
The session will also feature distinguished keynote insights from industry leaders in safety, sustainability, and infrastructure management, offering practical perspectives on sustainable infrastructure and environmental governance.
Executive Director (Safety), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)
Shri Devendra Gill currently serves as Executive Director (Safety) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), where he leads safety management for large-scale metro infrastructure and operations. He has over three decades of experience in engineering safety and risk management across major infrastructure and defence sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), contributing to engineering and safety practices in strategic defence projects. He also actively contributes to professional bodies promoting safety and quality standards in engineering and infrastructure development.

Head – Sustainability, India Glycols Ltd. & Secretary, NSC Uttarakhand Chapter
Dr. R. K. Sharma is a distinguished professional in industrial safety, sustainability, and environmental management with extensive experience in the industrial sector. He currently serves as Head (Sustainability) at India Glycols Limited, Kashipur, Uttarakhand, where he oversees sustainability initiatives, environmental compliance, and occupational health and safety practices. He is also actively associated with the National Safety Council (NSC)Uttarakhand Chapter as its Secretary, contributing to safety awareness programs, training, and industrial risk management initiatives across the state.
